UX Lens — Privacy Policy v0.1

UX Lens is a Chrome extension that captures a screenshot of the visible area of your current browser tab and, at your explicit request, sends it to the Anthropic API to generate a UX and conversion-rate-optimisation review. This policy describes exactly what data the extension handles and what happens to it.

What data the extension handles

• Screenshots of the visible tab. Captured only when you click "Run review". The screenshot may incidentally contain whatever is on screen at that moment, including personal information if it is visible on the page.
• The current tab's title and URL. Sent alongside the screenshot to give the review context.
• Your Anthropic API key. Entered by you during setup.

Where data goes

When you run a review, the screenshot, page title and URL are sent over HTTPS to api.anthropic.com — Anthropic's API, accessed using the API key you supplied — and a written review is returned. That is the only network destination the extension contacts. The developer of UX Lens operates no servers and receives none of your data, ever.

Data you send to the Anthropic API is handled under Anthropic's privacy policy and the terms of your own Anthropic account.

What is stored, and where

• Your API key is stored locally on your device using Chrome's extension storage. It never leaves your browser except as the authentication header on requests to api.anthropic.com.
• The most recent review for a tab is cached in session storage so reopening the popup does not repeat the API call. This cache is cleared automatically when the browser session ends.
• Screenshots are held in memory only for the duration of the request and are not saved.

What the extension does not do

• No analytics, tracking, or telemetry of any kind.
• No collection of browsing history. The extension is inactive until you open it and runs only on the tab you run it on, only when you click "Run review".
• No selling, sharing, or transferring of data to any party other than the API request to api.anthropic.com described above.
• No use of data for advertising, creditworthiness, or any purpose unrelated to producing your requested review.
